Storm Watch 2008

Usually when I discuss "Storm Watch" it's usually sarcastically. Because of course, here in California, 5 drops of rain constitutes a storm that requires everyone to drive like even bigger assholes.

Today however, we really ARE having a storm. Winds from 55-65 miles per hour, downed trees and powerlines, heavy rain and giant crashes of thunder and lightening.

Last night part of our fence went down. And, of course, it was garbage night so some of our trash was missing and our recycle bin had traveled approximately 13 feet to crash into my car. (great!) However, the missing trash was no longer on our street - so I'm not sure where it ended up. But, I have nothing to clean up yet. Except that fence. grrrr.

I slept okay - ignoring the storm. Salem, however, did not. He woke up around 4:30 a.m. and kept meowing and trying to get into bed with me. I tucked him under the covers and held him tight. He kept meowing. And every time there was a loud noise from outside; he'd jump, crane his neck to look outside, and then burrow back under the covers. Clyde, Jack, and Chance slept through it. And Chance, he may never go potty again. He doesn't like the rain.

I do not like storms. I know some people find them soothing or exciting, but me? No thanks! I would be freaking out right along with Salem.
