The Dog Park

Today we decided that we were going to take Chance to the dog park. Beyond his experience at the shelter having a roommate, Chance hasn't had much interaction with other dogs. Except Socks, who we dog sat for a couple times and the random strays that would stay for a week until we found their owners. Chance is not a big fan of other dogs coming to his house. Needless to say we were a little apprehensive about taking him.

We got there and stood in the little gated area where you take off their leash. Three dogs ran up to the gate to say hi. One barked. Tails wagged. So we opened the gate and headed in. There was sniffing. There was a little jumping. There was even, PLAYING!

We tried to get chance to chase a ball, but he was not interested. Later though, there was a man who was throwing a ball to his dog - like across the whole park...so the dog would RUUUUUN and so all the other dogs would RUUUUN with him. And Chance saw them and was like, "Dude! We're running!" and he ran too! And then he realized he was chasing a ball and said, "WTF?!" and he stopped being a follower. HA!

While the fetching dog was fetching, he also stopped to poo. Then he grabbed his ball and headed back to his owner, who was getting a poo bag. And then he couldn't find the poo. So we were helping him look. And when I stopped to stare at the ground, looking for poo, this happened:

Apparently, the rule is, if it isn't moving, it's fair game. So Chance PEED ON ME! And while, I was thinking, OMG he F*ing peed on me! (Mark stopped him before he did much damage) I was also thinking, Finally! Something blog worthy.

Have a great weekend.

So, was he peeing on you to impress the other dogs, like, "Hey dudes, my mom is soooooo lame."???

I'd be PISSED! (no pun intended, lol)

So you let him have a lil freedom, and he goes on pees on ya. Does he ever do that at home? Hehe.

Awww, dog park. Yeah, my dog would terrorize every dog in that park. NOT a good idea, lol. Glad Chance enjoyed himself! (maybe a lil TOO much)

LMAO That has happened to me before and what's even more embarrasing, Bugs has peed on visitors to my home before...he gets so excited, the pink spaghetti comes out and he just lets loose. Bugs and Chance would get along because Bugs is also a follower until he realizes that the goal is to retrieve a ball or something that is actually "doing something." Lazy I tell you!

Chance just peed on you to claim you as his territory....you know like a fire hydrant...not that you are a fire hydrant, but.......aw heck, I'm just going to shut up now.
