Another of Those Eight Things

When I mentioned something about this particular "thing", my friend Devann said, "OMG you're so cute!" I think you all might be more in the "OMG what a wacko!" camp. But, you know, I have no shame when it comes to you my sweet internets.

Here's the thing: I give a soul to otherwise inanimate objects. All objects have feelings.

Mark commented on my birthday, "you ate that because it was the only one left didn't you?" Yes I did. There was a basket of bread. There was only one slice left and I was stuffed. And so was Mark and it was just going to sit there. Alone. So I ate it.

Another example: I went to the store and was going to buy some hair conditioner that happens to come in a crack vile. They are usually in a box sitting upright, but there were only two left. I didn't need two, but I didn't want to buy the one I needed and leave the other one sitting there. Again, alone. So I didn't buy either. I bought a different brand/product.

I used to have the hardest time getting rid of stuff. I couldn't through things away because I felt bad that they would end up in the trash, alone...and possibly frightened.

I've been adapting to the idea of donation as an alternative. (otherwise, I wouldn't have anywhere to live because I'd have too much stuff). I look at it as if I give it away someone else will actually use it and give it a better home. Where it's not so lonely.

I'm a nut. I know this.

OK, so it is official: you are as weird as I am.

I'm not sure if I should congratulate you or offer condolences :)

That sounds just a trifle obsessive-compulsive, but in a cute way. My little quirk is not being able to stop unless things are at perfect timing - like on the treadmill, I can't stop at 1.9kms has to be an even 2.

Am a freak.

OMG. I do that. Everything has "feelings."

Ah, you may be a nut - but at least you're a sensitive nut!

let me get this straight: you think a piece of bread has feelings, so rather than leave it all alone, you EAT it?! how is that possibly a good thing?!

I want to adopt every single cat I see because of this same compulsion. But then I would have like 1,000 cats. I'm not ready for that... YET.

That is so cute. One time when I was a kid I felt sad over a banana I ate. Like, what if the banana had feeeeeelings?!

I used to be like that when I was younger, but now I am old and heartless.

It's endearing, but yes, a little wacko too. And it was certainly good for a laugh.
