Blue Ribbon Jam (and other stuff)

I was going to wait to write this blog post until I had pictures - but then I realized if I waited until I downloaded any type of picture, I'd never blog again. So...you get no pictures. SAWWY!

I left work early on Thursday to go to the county fair and see how my jam did. We didn't see it at first, among the other baked goods/canned things, so I was worried that maybe I did something wrong and was disqualified. BUT! On another table, THERE IT WAS! WITH A BLUE RIBBON! Yeah me!! So yeah, I got first place. And now, instead of eating toast and jam, we are eating toast and blue ribbon county fair prize winning jam. hee!

The holiday weekend was spent cleaning a LOT. I did a total scrub down of the kitchen and much furniture polishing and windexing ensued. We did get out quite a bit too. On Saturday morning we took Daisy for a walk by the river - it's kind of a woody trail and she was a little nervous and kept slowing down when the bushes got too dense. We were all exhausted when we got home and so we took a nap.

On Sunday we run a bunch of errands and took a walk around the park. And then yesterday we took Daisy back to the river. She was EXHAUSTED. I think it was all the "trying to run away from the bad bad man in the scary hat" I'm not sure what got into her - but she did NOT want to be anywhere near that guy. Apparently, she didn't hear me say that I brought pepper spray.

Today I am contemplating the fact that I have an interview on Thursday. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't particularly like it here - but I do like most of my coworkers. I'm afraid to jump into something different and maybe I'd really like the work, but hate the people. Or maybe I'd hate BOTH! or LOVE both. ::sigh:: No harm in going on the interview, I guess. (as you can see, I'm super excited. ha!)

Wish me luck. Or you know, don't.

So when are you sending me some of this PRIZE WINNING JAM?????

Huh??
Huh??

Also- good luck with the job thing. I think that sometimes you just know what the right decision is... I mean I never do, but it happens to some people right?

It seems like I always nailed the interviews that I wasn't that interested in. :)

Congrats on that Jam. Perhaps, you should go into business selling it online. :)

Congratulations on being a blue ribbon winner! That's awesome! I've always wanted to make jam, but afraid of the mess it would make.
