It's Quality Not Quantity

I realize I haven't been a very good blogger (Mark keeps reminding me that I haven't updated). However, I am saving you from the "the dog chased the cat, she barked, I made her go outside, she ran around and then we all went to bed" type of entry. You're welcome.

However, I'm pretty excited about the fact that I have another tie in (sort of). As I sit here typing, I am not only watching Dr. Phil, but I am also NOT going to the grand opening of the new Super Walmart that is like less than 1/2 a mile from my house. However, Miss V is publishing my Walmart story on The Aisle Files on Thursday. Be thankful it isn't the one where Emily laid the smack down on a very small troll like woman. That's another story for another time.

Since I don't update often, let's appeal to the masses on several levels.

1) I joined a "The Biggest Loser" club at work. It's a team weight loss competition, and we're going to be putting together walking teams too - so hopefully that will get me on the right track to being the size I want to be before seriously dress shopping.

2) Speaking of which (this in particular is for Lindsey), we're still tossing around ideas on theme/color for the wedding. Any suggestions? links? pictures? The only things that are certain are the location which has medium color wood floors and chairs, and 1/2 wood walls with white/cream on top and a stone fireplace; and silver accents and sunflowers. Everything else theme/color wise is up for discussion.

We've gone from burgundy and leaves to tangerine and lemon. I'm still thinking fall, but with a kick. And seriously, any ideas you have, please send 'em. There's a darling flower patterned dress on david's bridal's website and also - the cute pattern - also comes in shoes! peep toes! really! So with a maid of honor in patterned dress and solid shoes and bridesmaids in solid dresses with patterned shoes....swoon!

But is it fall enough? and is it mean to make the girls wear orange?

Also - I think we might go more traditional with the cake topper - though, we're avoiding the one where the bride has her legs wrapped around the groom. I think that should be saved for the wedding night, if you know what I mean.

But what about something like this? (also - Mark hasn't seen these so...tell me what you think, Mr!)

And I think that's all I have. Besides, my dinner is ready. hehe.

Those are great colors, I love orange, though it doesn't look good on me at all. So I think if you have a lot of pale blonde bridesmaids it might be a bit mean. ;) But on the right person orange can look really good, so it really depends.

My cousin did like a burnt orange last October.

It was really nice.

I think the colors are great and vibrant and very fall. Also, I love the toppers. Torsten wanted a traditional bride and groom topper but I wanted one that was a little different, so we compromised on one that had the bride and groom sitting on the top tier of the cake with their (barefoot) legs dangling off the side. We both loved it and we got tons of compliments.

Thanks for the contribution and link love. I can't wait to hear about the troll lady smack down.

The colors for the wedding sound great!

The toppers are so great. I love them. I like the dresses that you posted. My wedding was in winter so we did champagne and purple.

I saw your post on The Aisle Files, so I thought I'd come by....

One of the best ideas I've seen at a wedding is to have the bridesmaids in different dresses/different colors. My friend did this, and her bridesmaids weren't left wearing anything unflattering because they each wore a dress that was suitable for their size & shape, and they each wore a different color although they were all in the same color theme (pastels) and material.

I have always liked the idea of fall colors at a fall wedding. How about a nice rich chocolate brown tie in? Just a thought. Love the orange!

Anyways.

Wal-Mart? Is scary to me. I don't think I am going to go to that new one for at least a month...

Hey Girl! I think the tangerine and lemon color scheme would be awesome...I totally love the idea of fall with a twist. I mean, really really really love that idea. I think it would be unique and unexpected and fun. You could still incorporate some leaves or something like that in the decorations....

The toppers are great, especially the doves. I have that exact same Willow Tree(is that what they are called?) "figurine." I can't picture it as a cake topper unless it was a smaller version. The one I have would be way too big for a cake, in my opinion.

Also, do you think it would be okay if I crash your wedding!!?? Because I'm totally contemplating it!
