Weekend Wrap Up

Look at this! I'm updating about the weekend before it's even over. How's that for being an overachiever?

Friday was bunco. And then I came home and watched What Not To Wear and did some work. Friday was a crazy day because I was working on my new prison's paperwork. And in the process uncovered a bunch of paperwork that was never processed from 3 months ago. Someone had put it in a folder and shoved it into a random bookshelf. So yeah, I have a ton MORE to do than I had originally planned.

On Saturday, Flutter and I went to the spca book sale (it's going on through next weekend if you happen to be in the Sacramento area) Afterward I went to lunch with Mark and then he had to go to work. Flutter, Horrible Warning, and B met up at my house so we could go to the Rivercats game. That was a lot of fun.

I stayed up super late watching The Memory Keepers Daughter on Lifetime. (lol) and I have to say it was pretty darn good. Though, I haven't read the book. So I can't make that comparison.
I was super groggy when I got up to go to church with Flutter in the morning.

But we made it (and our baseball nail polish choices matched both of our clothes perfectly, which we thought was kind of fun.) We tried a Nazarene church (also known as physical fitness church because people kept walking around)...which is the same type of church I went to for youth group. And it was way different than my old church. There was no sermon - just communion. I've never done communion, but this seemed weird. They posted signs on the walls of all the things that people might want to pray about (health, finances, marriage, family members who aren't saved, etc.) and then people went from sign to sign, praying about the things they needed to pray about.

It was a little uncomfortable sitting in the pews and being able to watch other people pray and know what they are praying about. We were happy to get out of there and go to breakfast. (recap: so far the church of doors and stairs is winning by a landslide).

We had breakfast, did a little shopping and then went home to do chores. It was so hot today (mid 80s), so every time I stopped moving, I got super sleepy. We were able to get everything done and then Mark took me out to dinner. yum! And now, I'm watching the Memory Keepers daughter (yes, again) and thinking about doing some more work. ::sigh::

Have a great week!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was really nice. Although I didn't do a ton, I got enough done that I felt like I accomplished something, and I got to relax and have fun! Score!

On Friday, I hung out with a new friend, the adorable Irony Queen of Daily Tragedies. We grabbed a pizza and watched a movie. That, along with the delish german chocolate cake that she made and hours of chatting, added up to a great start to the weekend.

On Saturday I had to get up early to take Abby to the groomers. I had to have her there by 8...and then I ran some errands and by the time I was done, they had called to have me pick her up. I did that and then I tanned and then went to the gym - and was home by 11 a.m. THAT IS INSANE!

I spent the rest of the day going through my clothes and getting rid of stuff and organizing my closet. I found some cute stuff that I had forgotten I had, which is always awesome. I'm having a really good day today because I keep thinking, 'This jacket is toooo adorable. And also, my hair, it looks good." I don't have many of that kind of day, so I'm thankful I found this jacket in the "extra" closet. ha!

Mark came home from fishing later in the afternoon and I made dinner and we played a game. On Sunday, we went to his (step) grandparents house because they are moving to Oregon to live with one of their children. So, they were basically moving the grandmother out (his grandfather is already in Oregon). It was the first time I'd met her and she said, "Are you Aimee!!?" and the Nice to meet yous and then, "well, hi and bye!" Which I thought was pretty funny.

Other than that, we ate some really good birthday cake ice cream (yum!) and watered the lawns and put chlorine in the pools. Nothing exciting, but surprisingly satisfying.

Today, the new person is starting and I'm suppose to start training her. SUCKS! I hate training people. Especially when I thought she was going to start after I left. If I cared more, I might like the idea of getting to train someone - but this place has just left such a bad taste in my mouth...I just want to stop thinking about it.

I'm off to meet a friend at Starbucks now. Yeah!
