The Movie Meme

I borrowed (read: stole) this from the lovely Lara

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly in the comments, and put who correctly identified the film.
5. NO Googling or using IMDb search functions. (That's called cheating, folks.)

So, are you ready? Here we go...
(and first, I just want to apologize to the guys - oh! and can anyone help me with learning how to "strike it out"? lol)

1) I crashed my van into Jesus! Okay? I have a pimple the size of Jupiter! I am NOT okay! This is not how I wanted to remember my Prom. This is not how I wanted to remember my life. Mrs. F obviously has very good taste in movies! SAVED! is my FAVORITE.

2) I can't have coffee, it's on the bad food list you gave to me. What kind of doctor are you? Miss Sass got this one - Waitress.

3) I lied. It wasn't true, I-I love you. It's just I lied because I thought you deserved something better.

4) You know what my problem is? I am not interesting. What am I supposed to say I went to magic camp? That I'm an accomplished ventriloquist? Oh, I am the 7th degree imperial yo-yo master. The 40 Year Old Virgin - Good one Audrey!

5) I don't know, I mean, she's so weird, she just, you know, came up to me and started talking to me about crack. Miss Lara is obviously a huge chick flick fan and guessed Mean Girls right away.

6) Can you please find somebody else to be creepy with? 27 Dresses - This one was guessed by a new blogger, flutterbyshutter.

7) Have you seen these toilets? They're GINORMOUS! You know, I was really starting to worry about the kind of people I have been associating with - but thank goodness Erin saved you all by guessing Elf!

8) She was laughing at me because her "au pair" said that my new nanny was a slutbag whore. Aly guessed this one - Uptown Girls. Anytime a child can use the phrase slutbag whore, is a good time.

9) Why did Steve go to the movies with you? Well, first of all, Steve likes the movies. Steve had the night off. Steve said, 'Hey, a movie sounds good,' plus he got an invitation. The Wedding Planner - guessed by Lara.

10) You shut your mouth when you're talking to me. Also guessed by Mrs. F Wedding Crashers

11) Oh, hey. We're rehearsing a - a scene for the upcoming company play called uh, Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me. It's a musical. I threw Monsters Inc. in to throw you off - but Lara is just too smart!

12) That's a tough one. I would have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket. This one still makes me laugh - Go Lara for getting Miss Congeniality.

13) We might get Marky Mark to plant a celebrity tree. Oh how fabulous. Getting Marky Mark to take time from his busy pants dropping schedule to plant trees. Lara, I'm actually disappointed that you weren't 100% sure that this one was Clueless. It's a classic.

14) Do you know how many times a week I go without lunch because some bitch borrows my lunch money? Y'know, any halfway decent girl can rob me blind, because I'm too torqued up to say no. 16 Candles! I forgot that most of you are probably too young for that one. But really, isn't it a cult classic? Please tell me you've seen it. (guessed by Horrible Warning)

15) No, N-o, yes. All of you. I went from being all alone to being a fiancee, a daughter a granddaughter, a sister and a friend. While You Were Sleeping, guessed by Lara.

Okay! Start guessing!

***Thanks Mrs. F for showing me the beauty of html and strikethrough! :)

There Is No Mystery

I remember the days before Mark and I were dating. The days when there was still a little mystery. We were both on our best behavior, and we could go back to our respective homes and be as weird as we wanted. He could enjoy his dorky computer games and I could pursue my reality tv obsession. Don't judge.

As I was cleaning up the house tonight, and starting to get ready for bed, I thought about how fleeting the mystery has been since we moved in together. Not only am I sharing my weigh-in numbers with him (ack!) but there's the face masks, teeth whitening trays on the counter, and various other beauty routines that no one should have to witness.

There is my collection of Babysitter's club books (all of 'em! woot!) and my NEED to read them while I eat. (I like to read while I eat, but not anything that I need to actually concentrate on...so the Babysitter's Club and Judy Blume books are required). I also have a VAST collection of self-help books. I haven't read but maybe 3 of them. Maybe that's why I'm still insane. ::sigh::

I bring this up because I had to show you what I bought this weekend.

Yup, it's the book from when Britney and Lynne Spears were still pals. I figured it would be a collector's item...and also, it was only $1.99. Woot!

The Babysitter's books reminds me of a conversation that I had with Miss Sassy the other day. We were discussing the necessity of knowing where your friends stand on the "who is your favorite New Kid on the Block" question. I believe it is necessary for me to know the following things about you - so play along in the comments or blog about it if you must. ;)

1) Did you read the Babysitter's club books? Who was your favorite sitter? Your least favorite?
2) Did you read the Sweet Valley books? (I loved the twins, but notsomuch the high school ones) Who did you most relate to Elizabeth or Jessica?
3) Any other favorites?

Have fun!

Back on the Wagon!

I'm getting more inspired by some of my bloggy friends to get back on the Weight Watcher's bandwagon and keep losing. I've said it before, but I have maintianed (most of) the weight loss I've achieved (down 28 pounds!), and I'm at 199 still (woot! Under 200!) 50 or 60 more pounds to go....and this is going to be the year.

I need to just do it. So, back to weighing in, and back to making myself accountable to you all. Thanks for you support.

And now for the fun - inspired by mama slinger...some other things that Aimee needs:

(Princess) Aimee needs to go potty!
Aimee needs a foster home (sad!)
Aimee needs your prayers
Aimee needs retraining
Aimee needs advice on her relationship wth her boyfriend
Aimee needs to be protected from overzealous fans (Seriously!)
Aimee needs to spend a few months training in the ring!
Aimee needs a visit by the men in white coats again (mayb this is why I need the ring training?)
Aimee needs her PE kit for trampoline (ABSOLUTELY)

And for fun!

Mark needs fixing
Mark needs all the help her can get
Mark needs to be recognized by the relevant sector of the German public (don't we all?)
Mark needs a chick (he better not!)
Mark needs more room
Mark needs to articulate what he wants
Mark needs to resist the temptation to move too quickly (dammit!)
Mark needs your prayers (he might if he needs another chick)

What do you "need"?
