Inspired by the lovely Janet...I present to you the Love/Hate (but really all just Love) Tuesday.
Love - finally finishing one of the three books I started this month.
Love - playing tennis with my new Hope racquet and pink tennis balls
Love - those "real men of genious" beer commercials
Love - wearing a sweatshirt in the morning and being able to enjoy a walk in the afternoon without sweating to death
Love - waking up before the alarm clock and having 10 extra minutes to snuggle my honey
Love - being the only one in the office (OMG I can get stuff done - you know, like finally blogging)
Love - So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight
Love - work hasn't made me cry in well over a month (yeah!)
What are you loving?

What You Probably Don't Want To Hear
From the bride:
"My slip is around my ankles. That's F*ing hot!"
"Sucks to be you!"
*****
While making out on the couch:
::whiney:: "Nooooo...it's too small. "

There Is No Mystery
I remember the days before Mark and I were dating. The days when there was still a little mystery. We were both on our best behavior, and we could go back to our respective homes and be as weird as we wanted. He could enjoy his dorky computer games and I could pursue my reality tv obsession. Don't judge.
As I was cleaning up the house tonight, and starting to get ready for bed, I thought about how fleeting the mystery has been since we moved in together. Not only am I sharing my weigh-in numbers with him (ack!) but there's the face masks, teeth whitening trays on the counter, and various other beauty routines that no one should have to witness.
There is my collection of Babysitter's club books (all of 'em! woot!) and my NEED to read them while I eat. (I like to read while I eat, but not anything that I need to actually concentrate on...so the Babysitter's Club and Judy Blume books are required). I also have a VAST collection of self-help books. I haven't read but maybe 3 of them. Maybe that's why I'm still insane. ::sigh::
I bring this up because I had to show you what I bought this weekend.
Yup, it's the book from when Britney and Lynne Spears were still pals. I figured it would be a collector's item...and also, it was only $1.99. Woot!
The Babysitter's books reminds me of a conversation that I had with Miss Sassy the other day. We were discussing the necessity of knowing where your friends stand on the "who is your favorite New Kid on the Block" question. I believe it is necessary for me to know the following things about you - so play along in the comments or blog about it if you must. ;)
1) Did you read the Babysitter's club books? Who was your favorite sitter? Your least favorite?
2) Did you read the Sweet Valley books? (I loved the twins, but notsomuch the high school ones) Who did you most relate to Elizabeth or Jessica?
3) Any other favorites?
Have fun!

Updates & A Movie Review (sort of)
Updates:
Mark's grandma is still in the hospital. And the results of the tests she had last week indicate that she has mono and NOT cancer. Uh, you think they would be a little more careful about telling people they have cancer, or you know, something else. GRR.

I was going to give you an update on Chance, but you didn't know he had an owie yet. So it's not really an update. But whatever. Yesterday, Chance was walking to his bed and he made a loud OUCH! sound and then was limping. He apparently hurt is leg/foot. Mark and I both checked his foot to make sure he didn't step on something and then poked around on his leg to see if we could find a sore spot. But, we found nothing.
After a full night of sleep (and not walking around on his injury - which he INSISTED on doing for HOURS before bed), his leg seems better and he's not limping much at all. Yeah!!
*****
Also, I left early on Friday to get a TB test for my new job. It was owie! I have to go in again today so they can look at the spot where the injected whatever they injected and tell me that I do not have TB. I'm guessing that's what they will tell me since my arm didn't fall off. Yeah!

Okay, so for my movie review. If you like to cry (GRRR) you will love The Guardian! Okay, to be fair...I really liked this movie. I was thinking, Wow! This would be a great date movie. It has the action stuff for the boys and the shmooshie love stuff for girls. But then, the crying. I'm not a good movie watcher in general. I tend to cry over the littlest things. I wasn't expecting this one to make me cry though. (hell, I wasn't expecting to like it). But now, Mark is in trouble because he had seen it and he KNEW it would make me cry. GRRR.
But, it was really good. Seriously. Put it on your netflix (or watch it on demand on starz). Just make sure you have kleenex (and waterproof mascara).

Saturday Date Night
Last night was so much fun. Mark and I had a real live date! We did a little shopping (and went to lunch) and then later, we headed to the Rivercats baseball game. It was a good game - they were kicking butt for like the first 7 innings and then they got a new pitcher and he SUCKED. So he gave up two runs before we beat them 3 to 2. Woot!
Apparently, on Saturday nights, they do fireworks over the river after the game. It was the COOLEST THING. They were like just RIGHT THERE. It was really fun. Afterward we went to Big Spoon (the frozen yogurt place with TOO MANY toppings) and then came home for a rousing game of yahtzee and 1/2 a movie (I fell asleep).
Today it's back to the grind. A house to clean, laundry to do, lawns to mow. Our date was definitely a nice break from the everyday.

Camping!
Whew! We made it back! And with minimal injury, and LOTS of dirt. Woot!
We packed the truck up on Friday morning and headed out to Gerle Creek. We got all set up and then we waited for the rest of our peeps. The rest of the weekend was a blur. There was an abundance of food and beverage (wee!) and s'mores and swimming and EXTREME wading. The guys fished and bonded over the proper way to cook a tri tip. And OMG does food taste better outside!
Here is a myriad of photos, in no particular order, because frankly, I didn't get nearly enough sleep this weekend and I'm feeling particularly lazy tonight. All I really want now is a pedicure. :)
